Ongoing research on how university students actually perceive and use generative AI in their coursework, where they trust it, where they lean on it too much, and where the ethical lines start to feel real to them. I built and deployed the full-stack web app that runs the studies, with an IRB-compliant pipeline for collecting the data, and we're analyzing it across trust, usefulness, and concern. I care about this one partly because I'm one of those students too.
In the Ruiz HCI Lab at UF I build the software behind human-subjects research, eye-tracking, augmented reality, and how people trust and use AI. That runs from real-time gaze pipelines to full study apps with IRB-compliant data collection, and into the analysis afterward. I like research questions you can only really answer by building the thing a person then sits down and uses.
